Hello, everyone! Kimberly Keyzer here, Chairperson of the South African Cystic Fibrosis Association. I’m excited to share some highlights from our recent Cystic Fibrosis Annual Golf Day, held on Tuesday, November 12th.

A Sunny Start to a Rainy Day

The day started with a bit of a weather scare. The rain was pouring down, and I was worried our golfers would be playing in a downpour. But just a few minutes before tee-off, the skies cleared up! It was a wonderful sign, and the rest of the day was filled with sunshine and camaraderie. (Such an important life lesson that we shouldn’t get bogged down by signs of bad weather, but press on and enjoy the sunny moments.)

A Tribute to Anita Travers and Family

While rain can appear out of nowhere, a golf day cannot. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and planning. And so, I would like to extend a massive thank you to Anita Travers and her family. For over 38 years, they have been the backbone of this event, and their dedication is truly inspiring. Anita, her daughter Stacey, future daughter-in-law Casey, and her husband Mike were all hands on deck, managing registrations, selling raffle tickets and organising prizes. They made sure everything was smooth sailing. We’re so grateful for their tireless efforts.

Gratitude to Our Participants and Donors

To all the golfers, sponsors, and donors who participated in our Annual Golf Day, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means the world to us. Every swing, every donation, and every act of kindness brings us closer to our goal of helping those living with cystic fibrosis.

Together, We Make a Difference

Events like these remind us of the strength of our community. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of cystic fibrosis warriors. Your participation helps us raise awareness, provide support, and fund vital medical equipment. We raised over R50,000.00 at this event.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on the success of this year’s Golf Day, we’re also looking forward to the future. We have many exciting initiatives planned, and we hope you’ll continue on this journey with us.

Remember, every step counts. Together, we can create a “sunny” future for those living with Cystic Fibrosis.

Thank you again for your incredible support!

Warmly,

Kimberly Keyzer
Chairperson, South African Cystic Fibrosis Association
